SQL Server and Microsoft Windows developers.
Putting the latest computer technology to work for their clients.
Software design and development in the most cost-effective manner.
Creating programs to cut client companies' costs and increase corporate
efficiency.
Executive
Computer Consulting Corporation's (ECC CORP.) consultants are creating
significant advances in the area of Corporate Administration by improving the
computer/work environment. The
majority of projects contracted since early 1993 have been client/server
applications, using Microsoft SQL Server for the database and Microsoft Windows
and websites for the user interface.
Projects are designed, developed and tested in a timely manner, within
budget, including follow-through to production.
Ben
Yashar, President and CEO for ECC CORP., told me what makes this company work:
problem solving and meeting the needs of the customer.
"Clients call us in to request new client/server software and they
tell us how urgent their needs are. We
must put together a quick software prototype so that they can evaluate if they'd
like to invest in this new product and make it a part of their system.
They usually do."

DIVERSITY * DETAIL * DILIGENCE *DELIVERY |
The
company has developed numerous projects since January 1991.
The projects described below have already been completed and put into
production. Diversity is the order
of the day, as each project is function specific, each with its own unique
requirements and uses. From a
custom-designed program that enhances electronic document management and visual
imaging to one that reports financial information in tabular format, the ECC
CORP. consultants welcome any client/server challenge.
COUNTRYWIDE
HOME LOANS
ECC CORP. has developed
three (3) client/server software
applications for Countrywide Funding Corporation located in Southern California.
Management wanted easier access to certain daily data, a way to reference
at their fingertips. Likewise,
corporate officers wanted management to have quick access to information
regarding essential operations and payroll activities.
Microsoft Visual C++ and
SQL Server were used in creating these windows and client/server applications:
Time & Attendance Reporting System, P & I Cash Reconciliation, and Phone
Usage Reporting System. All three projects use object oriented design and
development technologies, having Sybase SQL Server running for the backend and
Microsoft Windows for the front-end.
Countrywide Funding Corporation developed the Time & Attendance Reporting System (TARS) which compiles employee time sheets daily, and, most important, makes them accessible through the system for supervisors and managers to review at their own workstations, without having to call Personnel or wait for a weekly report. ECC CORP. helped in the development of the administrative portion of this application, which is used by the Payroll department. TARS have future applications in statistical record keeping relating to project proficiency, personnel attendance patterns, etc. This is currently in production.
P
& I Cash Reconciliation was a project developed for the Investor Accounting
(IA) Department at Countrywide. This
program automates the task of reviewing the previous month's loan activities,
such as payments outstanding, etc. Prior
to enacting this project, there would be a mountain of hard copy, containing
over 100,000 loan records. Now,
IAs analysts and managers can see and review every aspect on-line, in tabular
format at their workstations. In
the past, for month-ends, there were 30 analysts and 10 managers reviewing the
loan activity. With the new software in place, the company has no need to
hire new analysts.
The
Phone Usage Reporting System, reporting daily telephone usage of all employees,
was designed to aid the company in keeping phone costs down.
This project was completed and implemented in less than 5 months. The assignment was to automate the telephone
reporting system, and, like the Time & Attendance Reporting System, allow
management on-line access to reports and reduce the printing of volumes of hard
copy telephone reports (75,000 pages for just one month!)
Now, managers can review the information on computer and print out what
is pertinent. The most recent
telephone records are accessible, compiled the night before, with historical
data available for up to one year. Of
course, as phone call monitoring can be a sensitive and privacy-oriented issue,
configuring access modes was crucial in the development of this system. The
cost-cutting benefits of this program have been realized, as phone usage can be
appropriately scrutinized and the administrative aspects of record keeping are
streamlined.
DIXON
STATISTICAL ASSOCIATES, INC.
ECC CORP. is in
the second year of developing a software application for a scientific consulting
company in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, Dixon Statistical Associates (DSA).
In this 2-year project, funded by a grant from the National Institutes of
Health, the ECC CORP. consultants are fulfilling DSA's need for a statistical
analysis software package to answer the question "As a scientific
investigator, what sample size do I need in my research?"
This software package operates in a Windows environment and provides:
Formulation of the major research questions in terms of a detailed study
design.
Specification of the size of effects expected or important to discover,
and estimation of the variability to be expected between and within subjects
based on preliminary or related studies.
The assignment
here was to create an interactive spreadsheet style, a tabular display of sample
sizes and power to allow easy assessment of multiple possibilities.
A
guide system, it provides multifaceted virtual spreadsheet functions, allows the
user to pre-program formulas, numeric data is translated and displayed in
comprehensive written English, and provides versatility and ease in generating
the many types of table-oriented reports needed in statistical analysis work.
This unique program enhances the spreadsheet environment over and above the
standard spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel and Lotus 123 on the
market today, and, in all likelihood, will expand to serve other avenues of
statistical analysis research as well.
